Η κατάρρευση του μύθου των μεγάλων πολυεθνικών εταιρειών πετρελαίου

Κάποτε η κοινή γνώμη θεωρούσε ότι οι πολυεθνικοί πετρελαϊκοί γίγαντες ήταν οι γνωστές σε όλους μας 7 αδελφές που έγιναν 6 στην συνέχεια με τις αγορές μεταξύ τους, δηλαδή η ExxonMobil, η Chevron, η Shell, η BP, η ENI & η TOTAL. Όμως ο κόσμος της ενέργειας σήμερα έχει αλλάξει δραματικά και ριζικά από την εποχή που όλοι σχεδόν οι πολιτικοί μας συνιστούσαν να προσέχουμε πολύ τα 7 πολυεθνικά αρπακτικά ή όπως χαρακτήριζαν τότε τις 7 αδελφές του τομέα του Πετρελαίου. Έτσι η ενέργεια άλλαξε αλλά όχι η πολιτική. Παρ' όλα αυτά το κοινό που δεν παρακολουθεί τις εξελίξεις, εξακολουθεί ακόμη και σήμερα να πιστεύει ότι οι μεγάλες διεθνείς πετρελαϊκές εταιρείες ή Super Majors όπως λέγονται είναι αυτές που ελέγχουν τις τιμές του πετρελαίου και την πλειοψηφία των παγκοσμίων αποθεμάτων υδρογονανθράκων. Οι παρακάτω εικόνες δείχνουν ότι αυτό δεν ισχύει πλέον και έχει καταρρεύσει ο μύθος αυτός, ενώ οι πολιτικοί μας, αυτοί που είναι άσχετοι με τον τομέα αυτό, εξακολουθούν να χρησιμοποιούν για να προωθούν άλλης μορφής συμφέροντα:............lygeros.org

Politically-motivated sanctions may adversely impact global energy security, Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak said on Friday.

He said that no one had bothered to reckon possible impacts of the anti-Russian sanctions on the global energy sector. “In Russia, we try to analyze this situation but as concerns the global situation, as has been noted here by many, it would be better not to tamper with the energy sector, since the balance of energy security is a very delicate balance,” Novak said at the international investment forum in Sochi.

Shale revolution a la Russe: Shell, Gazprom Neft start fracking in Siberia

Shell and Gazprom Neft have started testing the shale potential of the Bazhenov formation in Russia’s Western Siberia. It's known to be one of world’s largest gas deposits.
The venture between Shell and Gazprom Neft called the Salym Petroleum Development has started drilling the first horizontal appraisal well in Upper Salym. It’s part of a pilot project which will need a further five horizontal appraisal wells within the next two years using multi-fracturing technology, says a company statement.
