Shell, Gazprom to sign Baltic LNG plant agreement on June 16

Shell and Gazprom will sign an agreement on the Baltic LNG Plant on June 16, presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said on Tuesday.

"Execution of the agreement between Gazprom and Shell on the Baltic LNG is expected," Ushakov said.

President Putin will hold a meeting with Chief Executive Officer of Royal Dutch Shell Ben van Beurden on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) on that day, Ushakov said. The range of questions related to operations of the company on the Russian market will be discussed at the meeting, he added.

Total capacity of three trains of the Baltic LNG Plant will be about 10 mln tonnes of liquefied natural gas yearly with an expansion option up to 15 mln tonnes, Ushakov said. The plant is scheduled for commissioning in December 2021.
