Iran offers gas supply to Europe. - The South Pars field

Iran is ready to supply natural gas to European countries, the country's Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh said on Saturday.

"As a country that has the capacity to supply gas in large volumes, Iran is always willing to export natural gas to Europe via pipeline or in the form of liquefied natural gas," Zanganeh was quoted as saying by Press TV.

The Europeans are willing to diversify their sources of energy, and Iran's offer has nothing to do with Russia's differences with Europe over Ukraine crisis, he said.

Αγορά ενέργειας: από τον Αστακό στον Ηρωνα το Κατάρ. Κλείνει η πώληση του ΔΕΣΦΑ στους Αζέρους

Πόδι στην ελληνική αγορά ενέργειας βάζει το Κατάρ, όχι μέσω κάποιου νέου φαραωνικού επενδυτικού σχεδίου, όπως παλαιότερα ο Αστακός, αλλά με την απευθείας απόκτηση μεριδίου 25% στη μονάδα ηλεκτροπαραγωγής της κοινοπραξίας ΓΕΚΤΕΡΝΑ-GDF Suez στη Βοιωτία.

Η εξαγορά συμφωνήθηκε το βράδυ της Κυριακής στην Ντόχα και προβλέπει την απόκτηση του 25% της μονάδας συνδυασμένου κύκλου Ηρων ΙΙ έναντι τιμήματος 58 εκατ. ευρώ από την Qatar Petroleum International, η οποία αποτελεί τον διεθνή επενδυτικό βραχίονα της κρατικής εταιρείας πετρελαίου του Κατάρ.

Divisions over aid as climate talks near end

UN climate talks are heading into the final stretch with a host of issues unresolved, including a standoff over how much money financially stressed rich countries can spare to help the developing world tackle global warming.
That issue has overshadowed the talks since they started last week in Qatar, the first Middle Eastern country to host the slow-moving annual negotiations aimed at crafting a global response to climate change.
A draft agreement was presented on Friday night, but there was disagreement on several key issues.
