European satellite could crash in a random place on Earth tomorrow, 21 Feb.

The European Union's uncontrolled ERS-2 satellite is expected to fall to the planet tomorrow (21 February), Sky News announced.

Launched in 1995 for scientific purposes, the satellite became inactive in 2011, and since then little by little it has been approaching the Earth's surface.

The five-ton device is expected to burn completely in the atmosphere, but there is a risk that part of the debris will reach the surface. The European Space Agency is not able to calculate the location of its fall, but hopes that it will happen over some part of the ocean without harm to the population.
