No damage reported to Akkuyu NPP structures in Turkey

There has been no damage to the structures of Akkuyu nuclear power project (NPP) under construction in Turkey, Rosatom said in a statement.

The press service quoted General Director of Akkuyu Nuclear Anastasia Zoteeva saying that earthquake shocks were also felt at the Akkuyu NPP site, "but our specialists did not reveal any damage to building structures, cranes, equipment."

An earthquake of magnitude 7.7 rocked the province of Kahramanmaras in southwestern Turkey on Monday. Many countries, including Russia, have offered their help to Ankara and Damascus following the quake. Russia’s emergencies ministry said earlier it is ready to send two Il-76 planes with rescuers to Turkey.
