Floods have left at least 24 dead in the Indian state of Assam and 60 in Bangladesh.

 

 1. The storm that has hit the northern region of India has claimed the lives of at least 24 dead in the state of Assam, causing the displacement of more than 800,000 people from their homes. Rising rivers have submerged homes and destroyed crops. Civil protection forces have been deployed to help the population and provide aid, food and medicine.

2. Flooding in northeastern Bangladesh, the worst in nearly two decades, began to subside on Sunday, killing about 60 people in a week in the country and neighboring India, officials said.
