Flooding Damages Roads, Homes in Vietnam; Deaths Rise to 15

Floods Vietnam
Flash floods and landslides have damaged roads, homes and crops in northern Vietnam, where 15 people have died and authorities are searching for 11 more missing.

The Vietnam Disaster Management Authority said in a statement Tuesday the disaster caused by heavy rains over the past few days has caused an estimated $6 million in damages to infrastructure, homes and agriculture.

Landslides blocked traffic in some areas, AP reported.

More rain was expected, and weather forecasters warned of more floods and landslides as a result.

Floods and storms kill hundreds each year in Vietnam and cause millions of dollars in damage.
