Bad Weather Again Postpones Resupply Mission to Space Station

Orbital ATK will try again Sunday to send a supply ship to the International Space Station.

The launch of the unmanned Atlas V rocket was postponed Saturday because of rain and dangerous winds in Cape Canaveral, Florida. It was the third postponement of the liftoff since Thursday for United Launch Alliance, which provides spacecraft launch services to the U.S. government.

Sunday's weather forecast is a bit better, but there's still only a 40 percent chance of favorable launch conditions.

Orbital's Cygnus spacecraft is packed with food, clothes, toiletries and scientific equipment. It will also take Christmas presents to the six-member space station crew.

NASA is eager to get back into the business of sending supply ships to the station. Missions have been grounded since a rocket explosion destroyed a ship last year.
