Liberia is Ebola Free (WHO)

The World Health Organization has declared Liberia free of the Ebola virus.

WHO made the declaration after Liberia reported no new Ebola cases for 42 days, twice the maximum incubation period for the deadly disease.

Ebola outbreak still a global emergency despite significant drop in cases (UN health agency)

UN, 10 April 2015 – A meeting convened by the United Nations World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that the Ebola outbreak in West Africa still poses a threat to international peace and security, despite a major fall-off in in case incidence and geographic distribution in the most-affected countries Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

Ukraine’s Naftogaz calls for new gas transit deal with Russia

BERLIN, September 29. /ITAR-TASS/. Ukraine cannot guarantee reliable Russian gas transit supplies through the country, Ukrainian state-run oil and gas holding Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolev said in an interview with German business daily Handelsblatt on Monday.
“We urgently need a new transit treaty, otherwise, we cannot guarantee non-stop (Russian gas) transit through Ukraine,” he said.
Ukraine needs transit contracts which would be concluded between Naftogaz’s subsidiary Ukrtransgaz, Russian energy giant Gazprom and Eustream, operator of the gas transmission system which would represent European interests.

 L'agence spatiale américaine a testé avec succès une nouvelle technologie de transmission de données laser. 

Les nouvelles technologies, selon les scientifiques, peuvent transmettre des informations à l'aide d'un faisceau laser focalisé de mille fois plus rapidement que les technologies classiques utilisant les ondes radio.

Purchase contract and Transmission Agreement signed for Uzbek gas

Led by Alexander Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, the Gazprom delegation paid today a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As part of the visit, Alexander Medvedev and Shokir Faizullaev, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekneftegaz signed in the presence of Rustam Azimov, First Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan a contract for the purchase of Uzbek gas by Gazprom and an Agreement for Gas Transmission via Uzbekistan over 2013 to 2015.
Moreover, the parties agreed to set up a joint working group for elaborating a new long-term Agreement of Strategic Cooperation between Gazprom and Uzbekneftegaz.
