Italy, Emilia-Romagna, 9 dead and some missing. Thousands of displaced people and flooded rivers, new red alert in Romagna

-

The incessant rain that has fallen in recent days in Emilia-Romagna has caused extreme inconvenience throughout the region.

According to the Minister for Civil Protection, practically all the rivers have overflowed and there are dozens of countries submerged by water.

There were also hundreds of landslides and rescue operations to help the population: around 200 millimeters of rain fell in all of Emilia Romagna in less than 24 hours.

Desperate families, including children and the elderly, take refuge on rooftops in the hardest-hit region of Emilia-Romagna, awaiting helicopter rescues.

In Bosnia and Croatia, homes are swiftly submerged, prompting the mayor of Bosanska Krupa to declare an "apocalypse" with unprecedented levels of flooding.
