A new earthquake of magnitude 6.4 occurred on the border of Turkey and Syria, reported on Monday, February 20, by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center.



According to him, tremors were recorded on the territory of Turkish Antakya, the epicenter lay at a depth of 2 km.

 Electricity was completely lost in the province of Hatay in Turkey after a new earthquake of magnitude 6.4, which occurred on the evening of February 20.

Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay urged all people in the regions to stay away from damaged buildings and follow all notifications from the authorities. Also, people were urged not to approach the coastline due to the risk of sea level rise up to half a meter.

"We are warning our citizens to stay away from the coastline as a precautionary measure due to the risk of sea level rise of up to 50 cm," the Turkish Emergency Management Agency said.
