Over 60 people missing as boat capsizes in Mozambique - Crux Africa

More than 60 people, mostly children, are missing after the ship they were traveling on capsized off the coast of Mozambique.

According to the state broadcaster Radio Mozambique, the ship loaded with people and goods left the port of Nacala on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. local time in the direction of the Memba district in the northern province of Nampula.

The accident is said to have been caused by bad weather, which hit the region on Thursday afternoon.

According to some reports, 17 of the people on board survived by swimming ashore.
