Black boxes retrieved from A321 plane’s crash site in Egypt in good condition — (minister)

Russian Emergencies Minister Vladimir Puchkov and Rosaviatsiya aviation agency head Alexander Neradko have examined the black boxes retrieved from the crash site of A321 plane in Egypt.

Puchkov told TASS that the black boxes are in a good condition.

The emergencies minister held a working meeting with Egyptian transport minister earlier today. "During the meeting, issues of organizing joint work at the second stage of search operation were discussed. In particular, a transport corridor from the crash site was organized to the Cairo airport to deliver personal belongings of the victims," Pushkov said.

He added that they also discussed issues of assisting representatives of Interstate Aviation Committee (IAC) investigating the circumstances of the air crash in Egypt.

Russian Kogalymavia’s A321 plane en route from Sharm el-Sheikh to St. Petersburg crashed on October 31 around 30 minutes after takeoff in North Sinai, 100 kilometers to the south of Al-Arish. Flight 9268 carried 217 passengers and seven crewmembers. Egyptian authorities said no one survived in the crash. Most passengers were Russian nationals. Among the people onboard were also four Ukrainian citizens and one Belarusian national.
