  1. The Keystone pipeline will not happen – Indian Nations...

hundreds of years ago and it was their ignorance and insane, godless lust for riches which were not theirs which drove them to commit the worst genocide in the history of mankind. This hollow, selfish and vicious greed continues to drive the western world and continues to destroy our one and only planet, Earth. Wars are being fought, populations are being enslaved, millions are being killed and our irreplaceable Mother Earth is being destroyed, all for the greed of the few elites and the corporations whose only goal is enriching themselves and dominating the world. In reality the Americas are still stolen lands which belong to the indigenous people and those living on their land are nothing more than the next generation of squatters. The Corporation of Canada is dissolving and the oil companies are continuing to develop new ways to rape and destroy the Earth to get every possible drop of oil and gas out of it with no regard for the death they are causing our planet. According to Kahentinetha Horn a Mohawk Indian Elder in an interview with the Voice of Russia, the latest super-scale oil scheme, the Keystone Pipeline will make the land unlivable for a thousand years. The indigenous peoples of the Americas are the last hope for saving mother Earth.................http://voiceofrussia.com/2014_02_14/The-Keystone-pipeline-will-not-happen-Indian-Nations-0918/

  2. Nebraska judge strikes down legislature’s move allowing Keystone XL route...

A Nebraska judge Wednesday struck down a state law that allowed Gov. Dave Heineman to approve the route of the controversial Keystone XL pipeline, a decision that could significantly delay the $5.3 billion project.

Lancaster County District Judge Stephanie F. Stacy said the 2012 law violated the state constitution. She permanently blocked Heineman (R) and other defendants “from taking any action on the governor’s January 22, 2013 approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline route,” such as allowing land to be acquired by eminent domain for the project............http://www.washingtonpost.com/national/health-science/nebraska-judge-strikes-down-legislatures-move-allowing-keystone-xl-route/2014/02/19/5601e916-99a7-11e3-b88d-f36c07223d88_story.html?wprss=rss_homepage

  3. Senate to Vote on Keystone XL Pipeline ...

Congressional approval of the Keystone XL pipeline, which was on the Republican agenda to push through once they assume control of the Senate next year, could come as early as Tuesday. That’s when a vote has been scheduled on the project by Senate Democratic leaders. The House has a vote scheduled tomorrow, and it is virtually certain to gain approval there.

Taking up the controversial Keystone XL in the lame duck session is being driven by endangered Louisiana Democratic Senator Mary Landrieu, who edged out her Republican opponent Bill Cassidy on Election Day. But with neither gaining a majority, Louisiana election law requires a run-off, which will take place Dec. 6. Landrieu has maneuvered to force the vote, which would put her on record as favoring Keystone XL and give her something to tout to voters. Since the pipeline would carry Alberta tar sands crude oil to the Gulf of Mexico to be refined and exported, it’s perceived as a job creator in a region heavily dependent on the oil industry. Cassidy has accused Landrieu, who is chair of the Senate Energy Committee, of lacking clout to get the project done............................http://ecowatch.com/2014/11/13/keystone-xl-senate-vote-landrieu/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=keystone-xl-senate-vote-landrieu

  4. White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said during a press briefing that Obama's senior advisers to recommend vetoing Canada-US oil pipeline system Keystone XL Pipeline bill...

WASHINGTON, November 13 (Sputnik) – US President Barack Obama's advisers are to recommend vetoing US Congress' bill on Canada-US oil pipeline system Keystone XL Pipeline, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said during a press briefing on Thursday.

"We have indicated that the president's senior advisers at the White House would recommend that he veto legislation like that," Earnest added.

He explained that there have been previous Keystone XL Pipeline proposals that he expects "would be consistent with proposals that have been discussed overnight."

When asked if Obama would veto the bill on the pipeline, the press secretary noted that the view of these kinds of proposals at the White House had not changed............http://sputniknews.com/us/20141113/1014713130.html

    1. US House Passes Keystone Bill; Prospects Unclear in Senate ...

The Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives approved the Keystone XL pipeline on Friday, but a similar measure struggled to get enough support in the Senate and President Barack Obama indicated he might use his veto if the bill does get through Congress.

The legislation, approved by 252 votes to 161, circumvents the need for approval of TransCanada Corp's $8 billion project by the Obama administration, which has been considering it for more than six years.

House lawmakers were confident the Senate would follow suit and pass its version of the bill.

The bill's sponsor, Republican Representative Bill Cassidy from Louisiana, said before the vote the House would make it "as easy as possible for the Senate to finally get a bill to the president's desk that approves this long-overdue Keystone XL pipeline.".................http://www.voanews.com/content/us-house-passes-keystone-bill/2520620.html
