Plus de 2000 pompiers tentaient lundi soir de venir à bout d'une série de feux de forêt qui faisaient rage à travers le Portugal, favorisés par des températures caniculaires, selon les services de la protection civile.

L'incendie le plus dévastateur, actif sur deux fronts, a été signalé à Soure à une vingtaine de kilomètres de Coimbra (centre), où 315 soldats du feu étaient à pied d'oeuvre, assistés par plusieurs bombardiers d'eau et des hélicoptères.
